Gian Clavell (ex Quebradillas) signs at Valcea

CS Valcea 1924 Rm Valcea (Liga Nationala) signed 31-year-old Puerto Rican international 193cm point guard Gian Clavell (college: Colorado State). He most recently played for Piratas de Quebradillas in the Puerto Rican BSN league. In 13 games he averaged 14.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.9apg, and 1.5spg last season. He helped them finish the regular season as the second-best team in the league. Last season, he played for Coviran Granada (Liga Endesa) in the Spanish league.
Clavell also represented Puerto Rico at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. During this event he scored an average of 7 ppg and had 3.3 rpg.
He is a very experienced player, and thanks to pro basketball, he experienced life in nine different countries playing on three different continents. Clavell is familiar with European, Latin American, and of course North American leagues. He has played professionally in Greece (Promitheas), Russia (Avtodor), Spain (Estudiantes), Turkey (Bursaspor and Sakarya), Ukraine (Budivelnyk and Prometey), NBA (Dallas Mavericks and GS Warriors), NBA G League (Texas Legends), and NBA Summer League (Portland Trail Blazers).
He received several awards, including being named to the Eurobasket.com Latvian-Estonian Basketball League All-Tournament Team and earning a spot on the Eurobasket.com All-EuroCup Honorable Mention in 2023.
Clavell graduated from Colorado State in 2017 and it'll be his ninth season in pro basketball. He played also for Fort Hays Tech Northwest for 2 years.
