Chile - Uruguay 47-59
Uruguay overcame Chile to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Uruguay set the tone early in the game. They piled up a 38-24 halftime lead. Chile limited their opponents to just 21 points in the second half but could not avoid the loss at the end. Sofia Herrera (179-SG-2005) tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Maita Pereira added 15 points for Uruguay. Martina Orellana (170-PG-2004) answered with 15 points for Chile.

Brazil - Argentina 56-53
Brazil held off Argentina to stay undefeated in Group A. Ana Passos (176-PF-2005) scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to pace the winners as they gained the second straight victory. Argentina recorded a 13-6 lead after ten minutes. But Brazil gradually took over in this one. They went on a 37-29 run in the second half and snatched a narrow win at the end. Stephany Goncalves (180-C-2004) and Taissa Nascimento (178-SF-2005) had 12 points each for the winners. Alma Bourgarel (160-G-2006) replied with 15 points for Argentina.

Bolivia - Paraguay 92-57
Bolivia cruised past Paraguay to record the first win at the championship. Bolivia dominated from start to finish. They established a 47-24 halftime advantage. They sank 45 points in the second half and never looked back en route to the victory. Florencia Araoz (172-G-2005) notched 18 points, while Camila Prado (171-PG-2005) added 17 points in the win. Agostina Ochipinti (170-PG-2004) answered with 12 points for Paraguay.
