Ecuador finished fourth at the home tournament. Chile started the game with a 29-15 surge and never looked behind after. The guests added 26-17 rally in the second period and had 23-point advantage at the halftime. Ecuador managed to win the third period 13-11 and reduced to 66:45 after three quarters. Chile meanwhile closed the game with a 19-10 run for the final success. Cousino Barbara top-scored for the winners with 27 points and Catalina Abuyeres (182-F-97) collected 17 points and 15 rebounds. It was Paraguay that started better and won the first period 24-17. The rest of the game however was fully controlled by Venezuela. The latter won the second period 18-11 and tied the score at the halftime. Moreover Venezuela posted a 16-9 rally in the third period and entered the last stanza with a 7-point deficit. Venezuela also added 27-14 burst in the last stanza for the final result. Patricia Sosa (170-PG-97) stepped up with 19 points and Rivera Genesis netted 15. Uruguay woke up in the third period and needed a 17-11 rally to cut it to 12 points after 30 minutes of the game. Peru meanwhile closed the game with a 15-8 rally and sealed the victory at the U17 South American Championship. Pilar Somocurcio led the way with 17 points and Ojeda Valeria had 11. The favourites eked out a 17:15 lead after ten minutes. Brazil stretched their advantage in the second quarter. They arrived at the interval up by 10 points 39:29. Brazil could not clear off in the third term. Chile stuck around as they trailed by only 11 points at the final intermission.
