Venezuela wins the South American U17 Championship for Women

Venezuela defeated Argentina 73-71 to win the South American U17 Championship for Women played in Cuenca, Ecuador.
The Argentineans had a 59-44 lead after three quarters, but a great defensive effort by Venezuela gave them the win.
Cleider Blanco led Venezuela with 34 points while Argentina had Nayla Kraft with 19 and Andrea Boquete 17.
Tonight on the final day of the competition, Brazil and Ecuador will play for the last qualifying spot in the U18 FIBA Americas Championship.
In other games Brazil dominated Chile 92-36 and Ecuador defeated Peru 77-54.
