Brazil - Uruguay 123-19
Brazil got to a perfect start of their U17 South American Championship campaign. They knocked down Uruguay in Group A opener. Vitoria Domingos (178-PF-96) stepped up with 22 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds to lead the winning side. Brazil unleashed 31 points in the first quarter and opened a 25-point lead after ten minutes. Brazil stayed aggressive throughout the second period. They secured a comfortable 57:9 halftime lead. Brazil dominated after the big break. They opened an insurmountable 88:15 advantage before the final frame and coasted to the victory at the end. Bianca Araujo (189-C-96) came up with 16 points and 15 boards, while Caroline Dos Reis had 17 points for the winners. Sofia Nilson replied with 6 points for Uruguay. Maria Geraldi netted 3 points in the loss.

Paraguay - Ecuador 52-77
Hosting Ecuador earned the first win at the U17 South American Championship. They overcame Paraguay in Porto Viejo. Viviana Zurita notched 21 points to lead the charge. Paraguay and Ecuador traded baskets throughout the opening quarter. The scoreboard read 11:11 after ten minutes. The hosts surged ahead in the second frame. Ecuador cleared off to an 18-point halftime advantage. They stayed in charge throughout the third term. Ecuador accumulated a 21-point lead at the end of three quarters. The hosts kept Paraguay at bay throughout the fourth frame and sealed a well-deserved win at the end. Dayana Chevez notched 11 points, while Karla Yepez had 10 points in the victory. Paola Akita responded with 11 points for Paraguay. Sandra Sanchez chipped in 10 points in the loss.

Group B
Chile - Argentina 52-70
Argentina clinched the initial win at the U17 South American Championship. They outgunned Chile behind 17 points from Victoria Llorente (184-F/C-96). Argentina set the tone early in the game. They went on a 23:10 run in the first ten minutes. Argentina boosted the gap in the second quarter. They accumulated a 34:18 halftime advantage. Argentina maintained the advantage throughout the third term. They arrived at the final intermission up by 18 points 54:36. The teams traded baskets throughout the final frame as Argentina marched to the victory. Agustina Garcia and Sabrina Rodighero delivered 12 points each for the winners. Catalina Abuyeres (182-F-97) and Barbara Cousino (178-F-96) had 16 points each in the loss.

Venezuela - Peru 66-49
Venezuela recorded the opening win at the U17 South American Championship. They held off Peru in the opening game in Porto Viejo. Genesis Rivera notched 15 points to lead the winners. Peru got to the better start. They earned a 16:8 lead after the opening quarter. But Venezuela picked up the tempo in the second quarter. They unloaded 26 points in the period to secure a 34:29 halftime lead. Venezuela stayed on fire throughout the third term. They cleared off to a comfortable 16-point lead at the final break. Venezuela held their opponents to just 9 points in the fourth quarter and sealed the win. Lilibeth Maramara (F-96) accounted for 13 points, while Siuly Marcano added 9 points for the winners. Valeria Gordillo responded with 12 points for Peru. Maria Lora had 8 points in the loss.
