Ecuador - Paraguay 65-72
Paraguay clinched the second consecutive victory in Asuncion. The hosts beat Ecuador for 2-0 record in Group A. Natalia Quevedo (170-F-98) posted 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Paraguay accumulated a 37:31 halftime lead. They boosted the margin at 12-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Adela Cardenas (99) posted 12 points and 9 rebounds in the victory. Ana Mora answered with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Ecuador.

Uruguay - Argentina 32-60
Argentina celebrated the second straight victory at the championship. They knocked down Uruguay for 2-0 record in Group A. Malena Velasco (170-SF-99) scored 10 points to lead the winners. Argentina piled up a 29:17 halftime lead. Argentina held their opponents to just 15 points in the second half and coasted to the victory. Catalina Giovanolli (183-C-99) and Tamara Pinto (183-C-99) accounted for 9 points each for the winners. Lucia Schiavo (98) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds for Uruguay.

Group B

Peru - Brazil 41-73
Brazil posted the second victory at the tournament. They trounced Peru to remain undefeated. Mariana Vargas and Geovana Fonseca (189-C) provided 12 points each for the winners. Brazil accounted for a 38:18 halftime advantage. Brazil kept Peru at distance throughout the second half and marched to the victory. Obalunanma De Angelo (181-F) had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Lucia Guerrero (1) responded with 15 points for Peru.

Chile - Venezuela 52-66
Venezuela held off Chile for 2-0 record in Asuncion. Luisanny Zapata (165-SG) stepped up with 20 points to lead Venezuela. They grabbed a 34:31 halftime lead. Chile denied the deficit and pulled ahead for a 46:42 lead at the final break. But Venezuela responded with a 24:6 run in the fourth term and iced the victory. Odeth Betancourt (183-C) provided 14 points and 8 caroms for the winners. Constanza Antero responded with 15 points for Chile.
