Colombia registered a 24:18 halftime lead. They used a 16:3 run in the fourth term to ice the victory. Mayra Caicedo (175-PG-00) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Lory Lugo (183-F/C-00) responded with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Ecuador. Uruguay - Venezuela 44-71 Venezuela posted the second straight win in Group A. They rallied past Uruguay for 2-0 record. Yulianny Perez (175-F-01) scored 14 points to pace the winners. Venezuela dominated in the first half. They recorded a 32:13 halftime lead. Venezuela went on a 22:9 run in the third term to clear off for good. Odeth Betancourt (183-C-00) added 13 points in the victory. Aldana Gayoso (168-PG-00) responded with 24 points for Uruguay. Group BPeru - Bolivia 74-71 OTPeru topped Bolivia in overtime to gain the first win in Sucre. Veronica Escudero (173-SF-01) stepped up with 19 points to pace the winners. Bolivia established a 28:24 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 14-point mark heading into the fourth term. But Peru ignited a 25:11 rally in the next period to force overtime. Peru dropped 13 points in the extra period to steal the win. Milagros Carrera (173-G-00) accounted for 14 points for the winners. Noelia Tapia (157-SG-01) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Bolivia. Chile - Argentina 37-91 Argentina overcame Chile to improve at 2-0 record in Group B. Camila Suarez delivered 14 points for the winners. Argentina stormed throughout the first half to pile up a 50:18 advantage. They sank 41 points in the second half to seal a comfortable win. Florencia Chagas (174-G-01) tossed in 12 points in the victory. Tamara Castro (180-F-00) responded with 9 points for Chile. |
