Colombia and Brazil advance into title game in Barranquilla

Colombia overcame a slow start to beat Ecuador in the semifinal clash in Barranquilla. Colombia trailed by two points after ten minutes but they went on a 38:24 run in the next two periods to pull in front. Ecuador narrowed the distance in the fourth quarter but could not avoid the loss. Daniela Gonzalez (179-C-02) finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds for the hosts. Samy Bacilio (180-C-03) replied with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Ecuador.

Brazil - Argentina 61-60
Brazil nipped Argentina to advance into the title game in Barranquilla. Argentina grabbed a 21:17 lead ten minutes into the clash. Brazil denied the deficit to eke out a 33:32 halftime advantage. The seesaw action continued in the third period. Argentina restored the lead heading into the fourth stanza up by 6 points. But Brazil limited their opponents to just 10 points in the final quarter and eked out a narrow win at the end. Adrielly Francisco (193-C-02) scored 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Vitoria Moura (168-G-02) and Isabella Moreira (166-PG-02) had 10 points each for the winners. Federica Del Bosco (175-F-03) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for Argentina.
