Brazil - Argentina 57-67
Argentina held off Brazil to improve at 2-0 record atop of Group A. Brazil used an 18-8 run in the second term to take a 39-32 halftime lead. But Argentina responded with a 35-18 run in the second half to snatch the victory. Santina Cherot (168-G-2009) posted 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the winners. Lauryn Turibio (188-C-2008) answered with 12 points and 14 rebounds for Brazil.

Ecuador - Bolivia 60-59
Ecuador opened win count in Asuncion. They nipped Bolivia in their opener. Ecuador snatched a 36-35 halftime lead. They extended the lead to as many as 5 points heading into the fourth term. Bolivia limited their opponents to just 10 points in the fourth frame but stopped just short of win at the end. Briana Sanchez (167-SG-2009) posted 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Mara Del Rosario (170-G-2009) had 11 points in the win. Maria Viveros (169-PG-2008) answered with 20 points for Bolivia.
