American Clubs Championship of Asuncion, Paraguay, advanced to the
semifinals alongside Deportivo San Jose (Paraguay), Boca Juniors
(Argentina) and Uberlandia (Brazil) after the results of Day 3's action.
Delfines (VEN) defeated San Jose (PAR) 79-73 to finish Group A
undefeated and alone at first place, while the locals advanced in second
place. Rafael Guevara scored 29 points and Victor David Diaz added 15
more for Miranda, while Javier Martinez with 28 points and Michael
Robinson with 22 points were the best scorers of the paraguayan side.

Regatas were unable to win any of their three matches and go home as
well.

Meanwhile, Group B had a different finish, with thrilling matches.
Although Guacharos de Maturin (Venezuela) were able to beat Piratas de

eliminated of the competition.
Kervin Bracho scored 24 points and Elvis Montero added 22 more for
Maturin, while the columbians were headed by John Giraldo with 28
points.

Finally, Boca Juniors (Argentina) confirmed their recovery after a
surprising defeat at the beginning of the championship. They beat
Uberlandia (Brazil) 94-83 to take first place of the group and eliminate
Guacharos of the competition.
For Boca,
Paolo Quinteros (185-G-79) starred with 30 points while Uberlandia
had Rogerio Klafke with 15 points and Jose Ferreira with 14 points as
best scorers.

Delfines, San Jose and Uberlandia have all secured semi-final berths in
the South American Clubs' Championships.
The tournament's defending champions, Venezuelan team Delfines, had no
trouble seeing off Peruvian side Regatas de Lima 108-83.
Regatas won the first quarter by one point, but there finished their
resistance.
Victor Diaz (22 points) and Diego Guevara (19) starred as the
Venezuelans took command of the match and cruised to victory.
The winners of Group A will be decided when Delfines take on the
tournament's hosts, San Jose of Paraguay, who beat Chilean team
Llanquihue 101-88.
Patricio Briones (21 points) and Wallace Lawrence (20) led the Chileans
to a first-half advantage but San Jose recovered in the third quarter
and put 38 points on the board on their way to victory.
Javier Martinez (28 points) and Americans William Curtis (21) and
Michael Robinson (29) helped San Jose to their second win to secure
their last-four spot.
In Group B, Uberlandia of Brazil were made to work hard to earn a 91-78
win over Venezuela's Guacharos, who had provided the opening day's
surprise by beating Argentinian giants Boca Juniors.
The Venezuelans had the match balanced until the end of the third
quarter, when Uberlandia gave themselves some breathing space thanks to
two three-pointers from Walter Da Silva. In the last 10 minutes, the
Brazilians' fast counter-attacks sealed the game.
Da Silva was the match's top-scorer with 22 points, while Tony Lee added
19 for Uberlandia. Miguel Marriaga led Guacharos with 21.
Finally, Boca enjoyed a comfortable 94-62 win over Colombian team
Piratas to boost their qualification hopes.
Paolo Quinteros was the man of the match with 23 points and Fernando
Malara added 21 for the Argentinians. Jhon Giraldo and Jairo Mendoza,
both with 14, were the best among the losing side.
On Thursday night, in the last matchday of the group stage, Boca play
Uberlandia and Guacharos face Piratas.

Championship for Clubs from Asuncion, Paraguay.
Also Uberlandia from Brazil defeated Piratas de Colombia 91-79,
Guacharos de Maturin defeated Boca Juniors 78-76 and Deportivo San Jose
from Paraguay defeated regatas from Peru by the final of 90-68.
Diego Guevera led Delfines with 20 points in their win but Provincial
Llanquihue gave a great fight and were led by Laurence Wallace who
netted 24 points.
Tony Lee Harris scored 26 points in the victory for Unit Uberlandia over
Piratas who had as their best scorer John Giraldo with 23.
Guacharos de Maturin from Venezuela was the surprise of the day and
defeated Argentinian powerhouse Boca Juniors. Kevin Bracho led Guacharos
with 20 points and Boca was led by Paolo Quinteros with 26 points.
