The 44th edition of the South American Clubs Championship, played in Brasilia, Brazil, ended after the fifth matchday and Pitagoras Minas got their first ever South American Clubs Championship title by beating Duros de Lara. Boca Juniors tried their best while defeating Universo BRB, but they still came up short in their attempt for a fourth consecutive chrown. Penarol de Mar del Plata said goodbye to the tournament with a triumph over Deportivo San Jose that gave them the third place in the final standings.
