Against all expectations, Gigantes de Guayana defeated Bucaneros de la Guaira 98-95 in Gonzalez Sisters Arena of Puerto Ordaz. Assistant Coach Luis Gimenez led this Gigantes de Guayana's victory because its head coach Carl Herrera flew out to Texas due familiar matters. Andrew Feeley (206-F/C-83,college: UMBC) played a terrific game for Gigantes de Guayana with 22 points followed by Blake Walker (196-G/F-82, college: Portland St.) with 19 points, Jose Bravo 14 and Randy Vasquez (190-G-78) 14. Despite the lost, Bucaneros had its best man on Richard Lugo (209-C-73, college: St.Francis, NY) with 23 points helped by Rafael Guevara (194-F-79) with 23 points as well.
