Aska comes back to Malvin

Malvin Montevideo (LUB) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 36-year old U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican ex-international 201cm forward Ivan Aska (college: Murray State, agency: 011 Sports) for season 2026-27. It is actually his comeback to Montevideo as he has played here before. He played most recently at Titanes in LNB league in Dominican Republic. In 8 games he just recently played he recorded 6.6ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.0apg last season. The last season he played at Hachioji Trains (B3 League) in Japanese league.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Aska also represented U.S. Virgin Islands at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) three years ago.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Aska's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in sixteen different countries. Aska has played professionally in Belgium, France (Sluc Nancy), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki and Kolossos), Hungary (Debreceni Egyetem), Israel (Ramat Gan, Maccabi Ashdod, Ironi Nes Ziona and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in), Japan, Mexico (Soles), Philippines (Beermen), Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia (Al Ahli), Taiwan (DEA), North Macedonia (Rabotnicki), South Korea (Daegu and Knights), Nicaragua (Jaguares), Uruguay (Urunday) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Challenge ALS).
Among many awards his team won Nicaraguan League Regular Season in 2025. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguayan League Honorable Mention in 2025.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Malvin.
He graduated from Murray State in 2012 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
