Nicaragua post second straight win in Managua

Nicaragua posted the second straight win in Managua at the AmeriCup FIBA 2025 Qualifiers. The hosts edged United States Virgin Islands 75-67 for a 2-0 record. Trailing 1 point at the end of the first period, Nicaragua dominated the second half. They won the third quarter 21-14 and closed the last stanza 19-17.
Jared Ruiz (188-G/F-1992) top-scored for the winners with 37 points and Kaleb Bernard (201-F-2004) delivered 13. Ivan Aska (201-F-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) ended up with 19 points in a loss, whilst Shaquan Jules (201-F-1999) delivered 13.
