Rakeem Christmas (ex Santos) joins Hangtuah

Rakeem Christmas

Amartha Hangtuah Jakarta (IBL) agreed terms with 33-year old U.S. Virgin Islands ex-international power forward Rakeem Christmas (206cm-113kg-1991, college: Syracuse). He played this summer at Santos in Mexican LNBP. In 11 games just recently he had 10.3ppg and 5.9rpg. The last seasonhe played for different teams. He ended the season at Atletico Bigua Montevideo (LUB) in Uruguayan league.
In 2015 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in second round (36th overall). The former Syracuse University star is in his eleventh season in pro basketball. Christmas was a member of U.S. Virgin Islands Senior National Team between 2021 and 2022.
He is quite experienced player. Christmas' career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in thirteen different countries. Christmas tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Breakers), China (Christmasnan), Dominican Republic (Marineros, Plaza, Dosa and Pueblo Nuevo), Philippines (Hotshots), Puerto Rico (Capitanes, Cangrejeros and Mets), Taiwan (Yulon Luxgen), Turkey (Galatasaray and Ormanspor), Uruguay, Venezuela (Cocodrilos), NBA (Indiana Pacers), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants) and The Basketball Tournament (Boeheim's Army).
Among many awards he played in the final of Venezuelan SLB in 2022. He was voted to D-League All-Star Game back in 2016.
