ATLANTA, Georgia (USA) – The
GIE Cibao Immortals of the LDC Superior league completed a dominant weekend at the 2026 United Pro Invitational, defeating the PC Royals in Sunday's championship game to finish the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record and claim the inaugural United Pro Invitational title.
Representing the Dominican Republic, the Immortals displayed outstanding chemistry, balanced scoring, and disciplined defense throughout the weekend, cementing themselves as the tournament's top team against a field featuring professional clubs from across the United States.
Leading the championship effort was veteran point guard
Daylon Guy (183-PG-1992, college:
Tarleton St.), who earned United Pro Invitational Finals MVP honors after another masterful all-around performance. Guy finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals, controlling the pace of the game on both ends of the floor. Throughout the tournament, the veteran floor general consistently orchestrated the Immortals' offense while establishing himself as the event's premier playmaker.
Dominating inside was veteran forward
Londell King (203-PF-1997, college:
Stillman), who produced one of his best performances of the tournament with 22 points and 12 rebounds. King's physical presence in the paint proved difficult for the Royals to contain, as he controlled the glass while providing efficient scoring around the basket.
Veteran center
Paul Harrison (206-PF-1989, college:
NGU) also recorded a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Harrison's interior scoring, rebounding, and defensive presence were key factors throughout the tournament, giving the Immortals one of the most formidable frontcourts in the event.
The championship victory capped a remarkable weekend for Head Coach Jermaine Barnes, whose club won all four games through a combination of unselfish basketball, elite defensive pressure, and balanced offensive execution. The Immortals finished the tournament with multiple players making significant contributions, highlighting the depth that separated them from the rest of the field.
The PC Royals finished as tournament runners-up after an impressive 3-1 performance, while the Nashville Aces and Georgia Spartans rounded out the tournament's top four clubs.
With another championship added to their growing résumé, the
GIE Cibao Immortals continue to strengthen their reputation as one of the premier professional organizations representing the Dominican Republic, adding the 2026 United Pro Invitational Championship to an already impressive list of accomplishments.
The inaugural United Pro Invitational concluded at Clayton State University in Atlanta, Georgia, bringing together professional talent from around the world and delivering an exciting weekend of high-level basketball. The success of the event sets the stage for an even bigger tournament in 2027.
