Gil number one in United Cup EB for round 2 (by Hoops Agents)

Shooting guard Amet Gil (191-SG-1988) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Pueblo Nuevo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 35-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Georgia P. (#2, 2-2) with 27-point margin 76-49. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed CPN to consolidate first place in the United Cup. The season is still on an early stage, but CPN already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Gil had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at CPN, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Amet Gil has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (6th best: 2.3apg) and averages impressive 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was Francisco Alvarez of league's second-best Immortals de Cibao. Alvarez had a very good evening with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Immortals lost that game 65-76 to San Sebastian (3-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Alvarez is a newcomer at Immortals and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Nargenis Ulloa (182-G-1997) of league's top team San Sebastian. Ulloa scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of San Sebastian, leading his team to a 76-65 win against #2 ranked Immortals in a game of the week. San Sebastian confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Ulloa has a great season in United Cup. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (4th best), rebounds with 5.7rpg (9th best) and assists with 2.3apg (5th best).
