   Malvin is the new league champion
Malvin won their first Uruguayan League after beating Bigua 85-84 to take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-five championship final sere. The game was suspended with one second remaining when the referees left trhe court, followed by a dozen of policemen to protect them from the Bigua players and fans. Bigua was claiming for a personal foul to his guard Martin Osimani (190-G-81, college: Duquesne), but the referees said the player lost the ball and gave it to Malvin. It was the first championship for Malvin, a team founded 69 years ago. Emilio Taboada (190-F-82) tied the game 75-75 after he netted a 2 point shot followed by thw free throws. During the over time Taboada added fou free shots in the last 30 seconds for Malvin. The best scorer for the new champion was Fernando Martinez (170-G-79) with 24 points while Lee Benson (208-F/C-73, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Brown Mackie) scored 18 and grabbed 10 rebounds and Kim Adams (203-F/C-82, college: Arkansas St.), recovering from an injured leg during a car accident, scored 6 and grabbed 12 rebounds. For Bigua Osimani scored 31 points and the foreign player Jeff McMillan (203-F-80, college: USC) added 6 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
