Bigua are again the LUB Champions
Bigua won the second Uruguayan League Championship on a row beating Defensor Sporting 108-99 to clinch the title with a 3-0 record. Leandro Garcia Morales (186-G-80, agency: Interperformances, college: Texas A&M) was the most valuable player for the best-of-five finals games, all of them played ina neutral stadium, the Cilindro Muniicpal. Leandro Garcia Morales scored 27 points (3/8, 6/7, 6/7), four rebounds, and three assists, followed by Ruben Wolkowyski (207-C-73) with 24 points (2/4, 8/11, 2/3) and 8 rebounds. Also for Bigua Kevin Young (206-C-84, college: Missouri) netted 15 and grabbed 10 rebounds. For Defensor Sporting Brian Woodward (191-G-81, agency: Passing Lane, college: Rhode Island) scored 34 points and 8 rebounds, while Chris Jackson (208-C-81, college: N.Mexico St.) netted 21 with 12 rebounds. Bigua took the lead during the second quarter with a 9-0 run with two three-point shots by Garcia Morales and maintained the leadership during all the game. In the third quarter Bigua increase their lead to 12 points. Bigua this year also won the South American Championship and played the Liga de las Americas Final Four.
