Defensor Sporting are the new LUB champions - Mar 24, 2010 

Diego Castrillon (199-F-75) netted a trhree point shots with 10.8 seconds to play for the overtime giving Defensor Sporting the Uruguayan League Championship beating Malvin 108-107 for a 3-0 lead for the best of five final serie. Malvin was ahead during the first two quarters and took a 13 points lead (63-50) with five minutes to play on the second quarter. But Robby Collum (185-G-81, college: W.Michigan), who finished with 27 points, led Defensor Sporting to take the lead (78-77) during the third quarter. With two seconds to play Malvin was ahead 96-94, but Federico Alvarez (194-F-88) netted a two point shot with 0.2 to play sending the game to an overtime. Defensor Sporting also won the 2003 Uruguayan League, also during an overtime and with a last second shot.
