Aguada also won the promotion to the LUB - Aug 10, 2008
Aguada beat Nacional 94-79 to win the promotion to the Uruguayan League 2009, with a 2-0 record in the best of three final serie for the Metropolitan tournament. In the first game Aguada won 75-71.Martin Aguilera (195-F-87) scored 30 points and Wendell Gibson (201-F/C-83, college: Hofstra) added 24 plus 11 rebounds. Aguada was losing by 13 points at the end of the second quarter (34-47), but in the third one scored a 27-8 rally.
Capurro will be the other Metro team to play the Uruguayan League. For Nacional Marcelo Correa (208-C-77, college: San Diego St.) netted 23 points and grabed 15 rebounds.
