Uruguay Elite Team overcame Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico in their first game at the G League International Challenge. Rick Jackson (206-F-89, college: Syracuse) came up with 14 points to pace well-balanced effort from the hosts.
Uruguay Elite Team eked out a 20:14 lead after the opening quarter. They boosted the margin to 7 points at the big break 36:29. Uruguay Elite Team maintained the lead throughout the third term. They arrived at the final intermission up by 10 points 56:46 and never looked back en route to the win. Santiago Moglia (196-F-89) accounted for 13 points for the winners. Orlando Mendez-Valdez (175-PG-86, college: WKU, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 21 points for Capitanes as they fell at 0-2 record.
