Aguilera number one in Uruguayan Metropolitan for round 8- August 21, 2021
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Miramar (#11, 1-4) 84-78. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Verdirrojo is placed at 9th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. Verdirrojo is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Aguilera had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Verdirrojo's top player in his first season with the team. Martin Aguilera averages this season 16.8ppg and 7.2rpg. The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old Sebastian Ottonello (195-PF-97) of Miramar. Ottonello had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Miramar lost that game 78-84 to slightly higher-ranked Verdirrojo (#9, 2-3). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Miramar dropped in the standings to second-to-the-bottom (11th) position. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Miramar managed to get this year. Ottonello is a newcomer at Miramar, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 3.8apg. Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-F-92) of Danubio (#7). Chervo scored 27 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Danubio, leading his team to a 85-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Sayago (2-3). The chances of Danubio ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Chervo could help Danubio to bring them higher in the standings. Chervo has a great season in Uruguay. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (7th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Facundo Medina (190-PG-94) of Tabare - 25 points and 4 rebounds 5. Nicolas Andreoli (197-F) of Danubio - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Santiago Fernandez (190-F) of Danubio - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists 7. Lenny Daniel (203-PF-87) of Colon - 18 points and 8 rebounds 8. Andres Dotti (180-G-93) of Verdirrojo - 26 points and 3 assists 9. Rodrigo Cardozo (191-SG-92) of Lagomar - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists 10. J.Martin Mayora (181-G-95) of Colon - 18 points and 4 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
