Aguilera number one in Uruguayan Metropolitan for round 8

Forward Martin Aguilera (195-F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Verdirrojo, receiving a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Miramar (#11, 1-4) 84-78. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Verdirrojo is placed at 9th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. Verdirrojo is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Aguilera had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Verdirrojo's top player in his first season with the team. Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-F-92) of Danubio (#7). Chervo scored 27 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Danubio, leading his team to a 85-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Sayago (2-3). The chances of Danubio ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Chervo could help Danubio to bring them higher in the standings. Chervo has a great season in Uruguay. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (7th best).
