The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#1) and Yale (#6). Malvin (10-1) won against visiting Yale (4-6) 66-60. They outrebounded Yale 44-33 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Florencia Somma (175-1988) who led her team to a victory with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for Yale. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Yale at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost.
Bottom-ranked Juventud is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Hebraica (8-3) 69-40. Forward Martina Marino (170-2005) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Victoria Cantero chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Karina Acosta (-1986) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hebraica maintains fourth place with 8-3 record. Juventud lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost.
The game between second ranked D.Sporting (9-2) and 9th ranked Urunday (2-9) in Montevideo on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. D.Sporting outscored guests from Montevideo 82-46. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Urunday. Carolina Curbelo nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. D.Sporting maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader Malvin. Loser Urunday dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Remeros.
