Ramirez's 19 points and 9 rebounds give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old Argentinian point guard Abril Ramirez (167-PG-2000, agency: BIG) had a very impressive game in the last round for Atletico Tabare and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had the game-high 19 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Tabare in her team's victory, helping them to beat Cordon (#8, 1-4) 70-56. Tabare maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Tabare will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Ramirez had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Tabare, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ramirez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 14.0ppg), assists (7th best: 3.5apg) and averages solid 1.5bpg,4.8spg and 53.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Martina Schunk (181-C-2005) of Atletico Cordon Montevideo. She is Argentinian center in her first season at Cordon. In the last game Schunk recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Cordon lost that game 56-70 to the higher-ranked Tabare (#3, 3-1). Cordon managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Cordon managed to get this year. Schunk is one of the most experienced players at Cordon and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.2ppg (#5). She also registered 16.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Rocio Sagardoy (176-G/F-2000) of Lagomar Canelones Montevideo (#7). Sagardoy scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). Despite Sagardoy's great performance the Lagomar lost 62-82 to the league's current leader D.Sporting (#1, 5-0). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Lagomar can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Sagardoy has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 11.3rpg (3rd best).
