Foresto number one in Uruguay Liga Femenina for round 1- July 11, 2023
The 24-year old player tried to help (33 points, five rebounds and five assists) her team in a lost game to Malvin (0-0) 71-80. 25 de Agosto moved-up to the 1st position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and 25 de Agosto won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Foresto had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at 25 de Agosto, through which she has constantly improved. The second best player in last round's games was young Florencia Somma (175-PF-1988) of Malvin. Somma had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Malvin cruised to a 80-71 relatively comfortable win over 25 de Agosto (0-0). Her team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won their first game. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Somma is one of the most experienced players at Malvin and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. Third on the list of top players last round was forward Martina Marino (170-F-2005) of Hebraica (#4). Marino scored 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds. She was a key player of Hebraica, leading her team to a 61-55 win against #3 ranked D.Sporting in a game of the week. Hebraica has a very good start of the Second Stage. But there were just 0 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Marino also has a very good start of the Second Stage with very strong stats. Marino has a great season in Uruguay. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.3ppg (6th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
