Miculka's double-double lands her (Second Stage) Player of the Week award- August 1, 2023
She had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Aguada (#2, 2-2) with 27-point margin 83-56. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Malvin to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Malvin already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Miculka had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Malvin's top player in her first season with the team. Miculka has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 13.7ppg). Second best performed player last round was Julieta Sienra (161-PG-2003) of Yale. She is Argentinian guard in her first season at Yale. In the last game Sienra recorded impressive 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Yale was edged by D.Sporting (2-2) 71-67. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Sienra is a newcomer at Yale and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#4). Her other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 4.5apg. Third place about best performers goes to Abril Ramirez (167-SF-2000) of Hebraica (#6). Ramirez got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Ramirez's great performance Hebraica lost 63-70 to 25 de Agosto (1-3). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Hebraica can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ramirez has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.6ppg (6th best) and assists with 3.9apg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Catalina Pereira (176-F/G-2004) of 25 de Agosto - 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Rocio Mott (169-F-1992) of Urunday - 13 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
