Jourdheuil number one in Uruguay Liga Femenina for round 4- August 9, 2023
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 21 rebounds, while her team crushed Hebraica (#6, 1-4) with 16-point margin 70-54. It allowed Malvin to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Malvin already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Jourdheuil had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. She turned to be Malvin's top player in her first season with the team. Maria Jourdheuil has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 14.4ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.4rpg) and averages impressive 2.3spg. The second best player in last round's games was young Sabrina Molina (179-PF-1998) of 25 de Agosto. Molina had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 24 rebounds. It was enough for 25 de Agosto to edge slightly higher-ranked Yale (2-3) 62-59. 25 de Agosto's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Molina is a newcomer at 25 de Agosto, but is already one of team's top players. Third on the list of top players last round was Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-F-1998) of Lagomar (#8). Quevedo showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, eighteen rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. She was a key player of Lagomar, leading her team to a 64-51 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Urunday (#9, 1-3). Lagomar needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Quevedo has a great season in Uruguay. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.7ppg (8th best), rebounds with 10.8rpg (2nd best) and assists with 4.4apg (6th best). She also has 2.3spg, 2.1bpg and FGP: 54.4%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Camila Kirschenbaum (170-G-2002) of Aguada - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists 5.
