Liga Femenina Round 7 (Second Stage): D.Sporting is defeated by Malvin in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#1) and D.Sporting (#3). D.Sporting was crushed at home by 19 points 58-77 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of D.Sporting. Malvin forced 19 D.Sporting turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by D.Sporting's players. It was a great evening for Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) helped adding 10 points, 6 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Argentinian swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996, agency: BIG) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Malvin (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. D.Sporting at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Malvin are looking forward to face league's second-placed Aguada at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. D.Sporting's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Yale.

Hebraica was crushed at home by 16 points 46-62 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Julieta Sienra accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Argentinian Abril Ramirez (167-2000) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds for Hebraica in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yale maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. Hebraica lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Yale's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena D.Sporting.

Argentinian Jacqueline Soto chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Rossana Dagnino (175-1989) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds and Sabrina Molina (179-1998) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side.
