Colon - U.Atletica 54-68 The game with biggest result difference took place in Colon. Local Colon (10-11) lost to ninth ranked U.Atletica (12-9) 68-54. It was a good game for American forward Miles Bowman Jr (198-1993, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Felipe Garcia (173-1999) contributed with 23 points for the winners. U.Atletica's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jamal Bieniemy (196-1999, college: UTEP) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Quinterian McConico (203-1995, college: AAMU) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Colon. Four Colon players scored in double figures. U.Atletica have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 12-9 record. Colon lost third consecutive game. Lagomar was defeated at home 77-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. 25 de Agosto looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) scored 28 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Four 25 de Agosto players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan Carlos Milano (198-1985) with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Federico Haller (200-1988) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. 25 de Agosto (11-10) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position. The best for the losing side was Argentinian power forward Gonzalo Torres (201-1994) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and guard Nicolas Bessio (189-2003) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. O.Mundial moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Verdirrojo. Loser Miramar stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 11th ranked Stockolmo (10-11) to thirteenth ranked Verdirrojo (7-14) 84-82 on Friday evening. Strangely Stockolmo outrebounded Verdirrojo 51-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Robert Whitfield (190-1997, college: UMKC) who had a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists. Power forward Alfonso Arrillaga (195-1996) chipped in 27 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Facundo Terra (185-1998) who recorded 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Ramiro Arrillaga (196-2000, college: CIU) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Stockolmo players scored in double figures. Stockolmo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Verdirrojo maintains thirteenth position with 7-14 record, which they share with O.Mundial. Stockolmo at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost.
