Remeros (5-1) recorded its first loss in Mercedes on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by eighth ranked Lagomar (5-1) 90-45. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Remeros. Lagomar dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Remeros' 22. They outrebounded Remeros 42-31 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Selena Medrik (177-1992) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-1998) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Lagomar's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Julieta Laubert produced 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Lagomar moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Remeros.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Hebraica (#6) and 25 de Agosto (#5). 25 de Agosto was defeated at home 49-59 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Argentinian Giuliana Baccarelli orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Melisa Techera contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Sabrina Molina (179-1998) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for 25 de Agosto. 25 de Agosto's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Hebraica (2-7) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated 25 de Agosto. 25 de Agosto lost fourth consecutive game. Hebraica's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Malvin.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: D.Sporting (#3) and Yale (#4). D.Sporting (5-4) smashed visiting Yale (3-5) by 17 points 62-45. Worth to mention a great performance of Natasha Dolinsky who helped to win the game recording 5 points and 11 rebounds. D.Sporting's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Agustina Bazan responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. D.Sporting maintains third position with 5-4 record having just two points less than leader Lagomar. Yale at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. D.Sporting will meet league's second-placed Aguada on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yale's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.

In the last two games of round 8 Aguada lost to undefeated Malvin in Montevideo 57-73. Winless Juventud was smashed by Urunday at home 39-65.

Worth to mention a great performance of guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 assists and 4 steals and Argentinian Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest.
