Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Malvin (4-3) to fourth ranked Defensor (4-2) 75-73 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Malvin. Point guard Federico Soto (195-1997) fired 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Malik Curry (184-1999, college: WVU) chipped in 14 points. Naturalized German Kiril Wachsmann (203-1984, college: Iona) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Defensor moved-up to third place. Malvin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost.
Undefeated leader Nacional delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Hebraica (2-5) 107-99 in Montevideo. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Franco Giorgetti contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Hebraica. Undefeated Nacional (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Hebraica lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with L.Borges.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Montevideo, where 6th ranked Trouville (3-4) was outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Penarol (3-2) 88-52 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for Jayson Granger who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists. At the losing side Kwame Alexander responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Penarol moved-up to fifth place. Loser Trouville dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Cordon and Bigua.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Larre Borges Montevideo was defeated by Urupan de Pando in a road game 97-82. Atletico Aguada Montevideo beat Goes Montevideo at home 105-91. Atletico Cordon Montevideo lost to Atletico Bigua Montevideo on the opponent's court 66-71.




Hebraica - Nacional 99-107

Undefeated leader Nacional delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Hebraica (2-5) 107-99 in Montevideo. Nacional forced 20 Hebraica turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Hebraica was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (199) added 25 points and 7 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Hebraica. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nacional (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Hebraica lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. There was no surprise when 10th ranked L.Borges (2-5) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked Urupan (3-3) 97-82 on Monday. Urupan shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Gianfranco Espindola (196-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Terrence Thompson (203-1994, college: Wake Forest) helped adding 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four Urupan players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Justin Moss (203-1993, college: Buffalo) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Keaton Hervey (201-1998, college: Oakland) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urupan moved-up to sixth place. Loser L.Borges keep the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Hebraica.

No shocking result in a game in Montevideo where second ranked Aguada (5-2) defeated bottom-ranked Goes (1-6) 105-91 on Monday. Aguada looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 6 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) helped adding 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Aguada's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Kevin Allen (211-1994, college: Emporia St.) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import Elijah Minnie (203-1994, college: EMU) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four Goes players scored in double figures. Aguada maintains second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Nacional. Goes lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost.

There was a minor upset in Montevideo where higher ranked Cordon (3-4) was defeated by ninth ranked Bigua (3-4) 71-66 on Monday. It was a great evening for point guard Leandro Garcia (188-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) helped adding 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American power forward Chaz Crawford (208-1984, college: Drexel) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds and naturalized Italian guard Federico Bavosi (190-1981, agency: Pro Sports) scored 16 points. Bigua moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cordon and Trouville.

We should mention about the upset which took place in Montevideo, where 6th ranked Trouville (3-4) was outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Penarol (3-2) 88-52 on Wednesday. Penarol had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Trouville's players. It was a great evening for naturalized Italian guard Jayson Granger (191-1989) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists. Forward Emiliano Serres (204-1997, agency: Pro Sports) helped adding 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Kwame Alexander (201-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and center Martin Tessadri (200) scored 4 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
