Top ranked Nacional (9-2) recorded its second loss in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Hosts were rolled over by seventh ranked Penarol (6-2) 97-77. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Emiliano Serres (204-1997, agency: Pro Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Juan Zanotta (185-1995) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Argentinian forward Franco Giorgetti (203-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Penarol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin moved-up to fourth place. L.Borges lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. There was no surprise when 11th ranked Urupan (4-8) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Bigua (6-7) 99-90 on Monday. Bigua made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-1994, college: UCLA) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and point guard Leandro Garcia (188-1999) chipped in 23 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American forward Terrence Thompson (203-1994, college: Wake Forest) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Facundo Medina (190-1994) scored 22 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bigua maintains seventh place with 6-7 record. Loser Urupan keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost.
