Bacchini's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

34-year old center Ornella Bacchini (C-1989) had a very impressive game in the last round for Remeros Mercedes and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while her team beat Lagomar (#8, 1-3) 72-67. Remeros is placed at 6th position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. Remeros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. Bacchini just recently signed at Remeros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bacchini has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 13.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Rocio Bereilh (165-G-2001) of 25 de Agosto Montevideo. She is Argentinian guard in her first season at 25 de Agosto. In the last game Bereilh recorded an impressive 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as 25 de Agosto lost that game 52-71 to league's leader D.Sporting (#2, 4-0). 25 de Agosto managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bereilh is a newcomer at 25 de Agosto and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.3ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 7.8rpg and 5.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Remeros' star - center Melina Zapata (180-C-1989). Zapata scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Remeros Mercedes, helping her team with a 72-67 win against slightly lower-ranked Lagomar (#8, 1-3). Remeros needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Zapata has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uruguay she scored 8.8ppg.
