There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Metropolitan. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of Capitol on the court of Tabare on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Tabare 93-87. Tabare looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Rodrigo Cardozo (191-1992) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jervae Robinson (188-1998, college: WSU) contributed with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Santiago Tucuna (197-2002) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for Capitol.
Important game to mention about took place in Colon. Montevideo saved a 2-point victory on the road edging Colon 77-75 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Center Mauricio Arregui (200-1998) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Xavier Couste chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American Anthony Danridge (196-1986, college: N.Mexico) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Stockolmo and Verdirrojo. Stockolmo got a very close victory on the road over Verdirrojo. Stockolmo managed to escape with a 3-point win 95-92 in the game for the fifth place. Mauro Zubiaurre notched a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 20 points and 26 rebounds by Randy Rickards did not help to save the game for Verdirrojo.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 2: winless L.Borges were beaten by Olimpia on the road 92-84. Winless O.Mundial lost to undefeated Goes on its own court 80-88. Bohemios managed to outperform U.Atletica in Montevideo 71-60.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 25 points and 12 rebounds by Nicolas Catala of Bohemios.




Olimpia - L.Borges 92-84

Olimpia used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Montevideo 92-84 on Thursday night. Olimpia dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to L.Borges' 22. Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. DNicolas Delgado (198-1987) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Stan Scott (193-1998, college: MSSU) supported him with 21 points. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by Fernando Verrone (201-1988) did not help to save the game for L.Borges. Point guard Mateo Bentancour (177-2004) added 16 points and 5 assists for the guests.

O.Mundial - Goes 80-88

Very expected game when O.Mundial lost to Goes in Montevideo 80-88 on Wednesday. Goes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Angel Arevalo (195-2001) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Spanish forward Manu Vazquez (202-1998) supported him with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists by point guard Gabriel Brun (175-2003) did not help to save the game for O.Mundial. Guard Nicolas Bessio (188-2003) added 19 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. O.Mundial's coach Marcio Matoso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
