First defeat of league's leader Goes (4-1) against leader Montevideo (5-0) 97-93 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Goes. Important game to mention about took place in Montevideo. Third ranked Olimpia (4-1) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 4th placed U.Atletica (3-2) 82-81 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of U.Atletica. A very close game took place in Colon between Colon and Stockolmo. Eighth ranked Colon (3-2) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Stockolmo (2-3). Colon managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Thursday evening. Theo Metzger nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side. Facundo Terra came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for Stockolmo in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Colon. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Stockolmo dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 5: Capitol beat Larranaga on the road 85-80. O.Mundial lost to Bohemios on its own court 75-81. Lagomar managed to outperform Tabare in Montevideo 85-70. Bottom-ranked Sayago managed to beat L.Borges at home 64-62.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 15 points and 14 rebounds by Fernando Verrone of L.Borges.



Larranaga - Capitol 80-85

Everything could happen in Montevideo at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Capitol and higher ranked Larranaga had identical 2-2 record. But Larranaga was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Montevideo 85-80 on Tuesday night. There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Lagomar (2-3) won against on the road higher ranked Tabare (2-3) 85-70 on Wednesday. Forward Santiago Moglia (196-1989) nailed 21 points for the winning side and forward Federico Haller (200-1988) accounted for 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lagomar players scored in double figures. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Jervae Robinson (188-1998, college: WSU, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tabare in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lagomar moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tabare.
