First defeat of league's leader D.Sporting against Aguada 85-74 was the most important game of the last round. Aguada forced 20 D.Sporting turnovers. Strangely D.Sporting outrebounded Aguada 48-0 including a 19- advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Florencia Fernandez (175-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Natasha Dolinsky (173-1997, college: Lincoln, MO) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Aguada's coach Victoria Pereyra used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Josefina Zeballos (172-2003) answered with 25 points and 5 steals for D.Sporting.
Malvin defeated Remeros in Montevideo 65-61. Guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 assists for the winners and Delfina Saravia chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Malvin's coach Juan Serdio allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side center Ornella Bacchini (-1989, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tabare at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Juventud 74-47. Sabrina Molina nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side. Matilde Talamas came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds for Tabare in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
In the last two games of round 1 25 de Agosto smashed Hebraica on the road 106-30. Winless Urunday lost to undefeated Yale on its own court 40-73.
