Fernandez's double-double lands her (Second Stage) Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old forward Florencia Fernandez (175-F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Atletico Aguada and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
She had a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds, while her team beat D.Sporting (#4, 0-1), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 85-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Aguada moved-up to the 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Aguada won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Fernandez has many years of experience at Aguada, through which she has constantly improved. Fernandez has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.2ppg, leads league in rebounds with 15.2rpg and is league's best passer with 1.4apg. Fernandez is in league's top in and averages solid 3.0bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Sabrina Molina (180-PF-1998) of Places 7-11 second-ranked Juventud Las Piedras. She is a forward in her first season at Juventud. In the last game Molina recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course she led Juventud to another comfortable win outscoring Tabare (0-1) 74-47. Her team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won their first game. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Molina is one of the most experienced players at Juventud and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Debora Coli (180-F/C-2001) of Places 7-11 leader 25 de Agosto Montevideo. Coli scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of 25 de Agosto, leading her team to a 106-30 easy win against Hebraica (#10, 0-1). 25 de Agosto has a very good start of the Second Stage. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Coli also has a very good start of the Second Stage with very strong stats. Coli has a great season in Uruguay. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.2rpg (2nd best).
