Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (Liga Femenina) agreed terms with experienced 39-year old Brazilian ex-international power forward Karina Jacob (187cm-74kg-1985). Jacob played this summer at Ponta Grossa in Brazilian Paulista. In 18 LBP games just recently she had 9.7ppg, 9.2rpg and 1.8apg.
She also represented Brazil at the South American Championship in Barquisimeto (Venezuela) eight years ago. Her team won Gold and her stats at that event were 6 games: 5.8ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.8apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 50.0%, 3PT-1(66.7%), FT: 73.3%.
Jacob has played previously professionally also in Latvia (TTT Riga) and Brazil (Ourinhos, Catanduva, Sao Bernardo/Brazolin/UNIP, Corinthians and Blumenau). She played in the final of Brazilian CNBF in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian LBF Honorable Mention back in 2016.
