Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo (LUB) signed 35-year-old American shooting guard Brandon Robinson, who stands at 196cm tall and played college basketball at Clayton State, for the upcoming season. He is the second foreign player on the team, joining Italian Luciano Parodi. Robinson most recently played for Quimsa in the Argentinian La Liga, where he averaged 13.8ppg, 4.7rpg, and 2.1apg in 45 games last season. He helped Quimsa win the Supercup and reach the league semifinals, earning accolades such as Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian La Liga Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year, and Guard of the Year. Robinson also had an impressive showing in 11 games in BCL Americas, with stats of 17.4ppg, 5.6rpg, and 2.3apg. In the previous summer of 2023, he played for Team Challenge ALS in the U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament.
Robinson is a very experienced player. He has traveled extensively during his pro career, playing in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America). Robinson has played professionally in Argentina, Brazil (Flamengo), Canada (Rainmen, The Storm, and Windsor Express), Chile (Osorno, Osorno, and Las Animas), China (Hebei), Germany (Chemnitz and Hakro Merlins), Mexico (Astros), SEBL (Marietta O.), and The Basketball Tournament (Team DRC and Florida TNT).
He won the Argentinian LNB championship title in 2023. He received the Latinbasket.com All-Chilean Liga Nacional Player of the Year award in 2018.
He graduated from Clayton State in 2011 and it'll be his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. Robinson played also for Seminole State College of Florida for 2 years.
