Randy Rickards gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Metropolitan (by Hoops Agents)

American Randy Rickards (201-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Verdirrojo Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 32 points and 22 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Capitol (#9, 10-10) 73-70. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Verdirrojo moved-up to the 14th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. Verdirrojo is currently ranked second from the bottom. But it was their 13th lost game this season out of 19 games. Rickards turned to be Verdirrojo's top player in his first season with the team. Wilmington University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rickards is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.5ppg) and averages solid 51.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-F/C-1995) of Larranaga Montevideo. Zuvich impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Larranaga cruised to a 83-74 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked L.Borges (#11, 9-12). This victory allowed Larranaga to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 12-9 record is not bad at all. Zuvich is a newcomer at Larranaga and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#1). He also registered 10.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Larranaga's star - Argentinian Mateo Bolivar (187-SG-1992). Bolivar showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Larranaga Montevideo, helping his team with a 83-74 win against the lower-ranked L.Borges (#11, 9-12). Larranaga needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 9 lost games. Bolivar has a great season in Uruguay. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.1ppg (8th best) and assists with 4.7apg (8th best).
