Ferreira number one in Uruguay Liga Femenina for round 8

Brazilian Center Maria Ferreira (192-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Atletico Aguada, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 20 rebounds, while her team outclassed, Second Stage bottom-ranked team Urunday (#6, 0-7) with 27-point margin 86-59. Aguada maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Second Stage. Aguada will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Ferreira turned to be Aguada's top player in her first season with the team. Maria Ferreira averages this season 13.5ppg and 13.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Sabrina Molina (180-PF-1998) of Juventud Las Piedras. Molina had a very good evening with a double-double of 10 points and 22 rebounds. Juventud's 7th position in the standings has not changed. She plays for the best team in the league and Juventud managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Molina is a newcomer at Juventud, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Juventud's star - Paraguayan guard Constanza Lopez (G-2006). Lopez showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Juventud Las Piedras, helping her team with a 66-52 easy win against slightly lower-ranked 25 de Agosto (#9, 3-3). Juventud have amazing season winning all 7 games without a single defeat. Lopez turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Lopez has a great season in Uruguay. After 17 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.5ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 7.2rpg (7th best) and assists with 5.1apg (2nd best).
