Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Olimpia (21-6) in Montevideo on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Goes (16-11) 88-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olimpia. Forward Christian Pereira (194-1993) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American forward Justin Strings (201-1996, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. DNicolas Delgado (198-1987) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Goes maintains fourth place with 16-11 record. Olimpia at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Lagomar (17-11) against tenth ranked Stockolmo (13-13) on Thursday night. Visiting Lagomar was defeated by Stockolmo in a tough game in Montevideo 79-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lagomar. Argentinian forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) nailed 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Mateo MacMullen accounted for 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for Lagomar in the defeat. Lagomar's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stockolmo moved-up to sixth place. Lagomar at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost.

The best player for the winners was Randy Rickards who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. Martin Aguilera produced 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Verdirrojo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place. Capitol lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 29: Tabare lost to Montevideo on the opponent's court 81-90. Sayago managed to outperform Colon in a home game 81-70. Bottom-ranked O.Mundial recorded a loss to Larranaga on the road 107-95. L.Borges were defeated by U.Atletica on its own court 68-83.




Capitol - Verdirrojo 102-111

An interesting game took place in Montevideo where higher ranked Capitol (13-14) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Verdirrojo (11-15) 111-102 on Wednesday. Verdirrojo dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Capitol's 42 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Randy Rickards (201-2000, college: WILMU) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Taalib Holloman (193, college: WILMU) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Martin Aguilera (195-1987) produced 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and point guard Juan Galletto (182-1996) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. There was an upset when higher ranked Tabare (13-14) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Montevideo (11-17) 90-81 on Wednesday. Montevideo outrebounded Tabare 45-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Italian forward Xavier Couste (186-1999) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. South Sudanese-American power forward Mogga Lado (202-1995, college: Campbell) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Montevideo's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-1986, college: ECSU) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sayago players scored in double figures. Argentinian Valentin Duvanced (, agency: BIG) produced 9 points and 11 rebounds and forward Manuel Oyenard (194-2000) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Colon's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sayago have a solid series of three victories in a row.
