LUB Round 1 (Regular Season): Cordon keep a leadership position

Cordon smashed Welcome in Montevideo 95-75. Cordon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Welcome's players. Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Geronimo Viera (172-2004) responded with 25 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Welcome will play next round against Bigua trying to get back on the winning streak. Martin Rojas produced 21 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Urupan will meet Cordon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bigua - Malvin 73-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bigua in Montevideo. Hosts were defeated by Malvin 86-73. Malvin made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game.
