Malvin made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Malvin outrebounded Aguada 48-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Dragan Zekovic (209-1987, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 7 rebounds. American swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-1986, college: ECSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aguada. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Nacional dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Defensor's 30. Nacional players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American-Dominican center James Feldeine (193-1988, college: Quinnipiac) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and Brazilian Joao Cardoso (200-2000) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Nacional players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Dexter McClanahan (193-1997, college: Nicholls) responded with 14 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
