The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Yale (#1) and 25 de Agosto (#7). 25 de Agosto was crushed at home by 26 points 57-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Yale dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to 25 de Agosto's 34. Yale forced 19 25 de Agosto turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 26 on the defensive glass. Forward Lara Barbato (181-2004) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) contributed with 11 points and 11 assists for the winners. Argentinian guard Rocio Bereilh (165-2001) answered with 21 points and 6 assists for 25 de Agosto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Selena Medrick (177-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Carla Miculka chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Matilde Talamas (-2006) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to third ranked D.Sporting (4-1) 120-25 on Saturday evening. Maria Rivera nailed 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winning side. Luana Cardozo came up with 6 points for Cordon in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Cordon lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. D.Sporting will meet at home Aguada (#5) in the next round.
