Barbato's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

20-year old forward Lara Barbato (181-F-2004) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Yale Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds, while her team outclassed 25 de Agosto (#7, 2-3) with 26-point margin 83-57. It allowed Yale to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Yale already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Barbato had a remarkable 68.4% from 2-point range. She turned to be Yale's top player in her first season with the team. Barbato has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.6ppg), rebounds (5th best: 10.4rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg,2.2spg and 59.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Catalina Pereira (176-F/G-2004, agency: BIG) of Juventud Las Piedras. She is a swingman in her first season at Juventud. Juventud is still second from the bottom in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Juventud managed to get this year. Pereira is one of the most experienced players at Juventud and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 3.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Camila Kirschenbaum (171-G-2002) of Atletico Aguada (#5). Kirschenbaum scored 27 points and passed 6 assists. She was a key player of Aguada, leading her team to a 85-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Juventud (#8, 1-4). Aguada needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Kirschenbaum has a great season in Uruguay. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.8ppg (best scorer).
