The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: L.Borges (#6) and Verdirrojo (#3). L.Borges (5-2) won against visiting Verdirrojo (4-2) 88-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Verdirrojo. Fernando Verrone (201-1988) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Manuel Oyenard (194-2000) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Federico Haller (200-1988) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. L.Borges moved-up to third place. Verdirrojo at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Larranaga. L.Borges will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Verdirrojo's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Lagomar.
Important game to mention about took place in Colon. Ninth ranked Colon (3-4) saved a 2-point derby victory at home edging 8th ranked Yale (2-4) 70-68 in the game for the eighth place. Worth to mention a great performance of Pablo Gomez (200-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Felipe Garcia contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. point guard Bruno Curadossi (191-2004) answered with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for Yale. Yale's coach Ernesto Dorrego rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Colon moved-up to eighth place. Yale at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Colon will play against Montevideo (#11) on the road in the next round. Yale will play against Tabare and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 7 Olimpia was defeated by Tabare in a road game 70-63.



Capitol - Marne 68-76

At the losing side Panamanian power forward Ezequiel Bell (202-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 19 rebounds and forward Mateo MacMullen (-2003) scored 13 points. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Olimpia (1-5) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Tabare (2-5) 70-63 on Monday. It was a great evening for guard Juan Zanotta (185-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. American center Taylor Adway (205-1996, college: Ferris St.) helped adding 9 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-1986, college: ECSU) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Olimpia's coach Federico Camina tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tabare moved-up to tenth place. Loser Olimpia dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Tabare will meet higher ranked Yale (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Capitol.
