Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: D.Sporting (#1) and Yale (#3). Yale was defeated at home 56-61 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. D.Sporting forced 19 Yale turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian Camila Suarez (178-2000) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Josefina Rivera (177-1998) who added 10 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) responded with 22 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record. Yale at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
Bottom-ranked Cordon (0-11) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to ninth ranked Tabare (3-8) 69-39. The winners were led by Chilean Catalina Rodriguez (-2002) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Chiara Collazo supported her with 8 points and 17 rebounds. Tabare's coach Joaquin Retamoso felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by forward Priscila Insua did not help to save the game for Cordon. Tabare maintains ninth position with 3-8 record. Newly promoted Cordon still closes the standings with 11 games lost.
The game in Las Piedras was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Urunday (4-7) played at the court of eighth ranked Juventud (4-7). Juventud managed to secure a 8-point victory 68-60 on Sunday. Valeria Barrett fired 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Juventud's coach Juan Loureiro used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Melina Marcial produced 26 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for lost side. Juventud moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Urunday.
In the last game of round 4 Aguada won against Lagomar on the opponent's court 64-57.
