Julieta Sienra gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga Femenina (Second Stage)

Talented Argentinian Julieta Sienra (161-PG-2003) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best Yale Montevideo and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 22-year old playmaker had the game-high 16 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Yale in her team's victory, helping them to beat Malvin (#3, 8-3) 70-56. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Yale is placed at 2nd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Yale will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. Sienra has many years of experience at Yale, through which she has constantly improved. Sienra has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 13.5ppg), assists (4th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 60.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian guard Rocio Bereilh (165-G-2001) of 25 de Agosto Montevideo. Bereilh impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds. Of course 25 de Agosto cruised to a 77-66 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Juventud (#8, 4-8). 25 de Agosto's 6th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bereilh is one of the most experienced players at 25 de Agosto and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 4.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was Belen Moreira (1999) of Lagomar Canelones Montevideo (#5). Moreira scored 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Moreira's great performance the Lagomar lost 50-58 to the higher-ranked D.Sporting (#1, 11-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Lagomar ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Moreira could help Lagomar to bring them higher in the standings. Moreira has a great season in Uruguay. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.4rpg (3rd best).
